AJAY GANDHI

Ajay was born and raised a true Hyderabadi. A loving, hard-working & secular person, he touched countless people and changed their lives forever.

 

Ajay grew up in Feelkhana with his parents and 3 siblings (Bhavna, Kamlesh, Raksha). He married Neeta, the love of his life, in 1983. They had 2 beautiful children - Mansi and Parth.

 

Ajay got his Chartered Accountant’s degree in 1978 and a law degree from Osmania Univeristy in 1979. Soon after, he started Gandhi & Gandhi, with his brother Kamlesh Gandhi, in 1978.

 

Always a visionary, Ajay was one of the first people to get a computer & internet connection in Hyderabad. Enamored with what they could do, he and Kamlesh set up Wings - an ERP software company in 1990.

 

Ajay believed in a free, secular & liberal India. With his best friend of several decades, MR Vikram, he started Manthan in 2005. They held over 400 talks from some of the world’s greatest thinkers, usually under a large banyan tree with some tea and biscuits.

 

Ajay was also a driving force behind the Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) that has gained country-wide recognition for it unique informal and friendly spirit.

 

Ajay’s work, thoughts, ideas and actions continue to impact people and society.
